Last year sangria and tapas were served in large quantities to people from near and far in Spain. Because after two hard years during the corona shutdowns, foreign tourists began to return to Spain, writes Reuters.

Over 71 million tourists came by in 2022, says the Spanish Minister of Tourism, Reyes Maroto. It is still lower than the record in 2019, when over 83 million tourists visited the country, but tourists are staying longer and spending more money than then. The minister adds that each tourist stayed on average almost eight days in the country.

When the corona restrictions were eased in 2021, 31 million tourists visited Spain, i.e. less than half as many as in 2022.

This is of course good news for homes-abroad.com as we live off the tourists coming down and wanting to invest/buy a nice holiday home.
